I have also written a number of articles for EYE magazine and I’m involved in a number of professional groups aiming to improve the delivery of childcare education for families in Derby; such as The Pre-School Playgroup Forum, I have also been a student teacher for Derby University Early Childhood Studies BA(HONS). My passion is to create a learning environment that listens to the needs of children and their families, we pride ourselves at St Paul’s for the Community environment that we have developed within our setting. The outstanding educational experiences we provide will give every child the best possible start in life. I am also a keen advocate of healthy eating and the effects that diet can have on a child’s wellbeing and behaviour and so am very keen to ensure that we provide healthy nutritious snacks for our children. I love working at St Paul’s Pre-School it is a very special place to work and play!

Volunteers and Students
We have a wonderful group of volunteers at Pre-School who are linked with the local Community of Chester Green. These range from grandparents, teachers, parents and a variety of highly skilled individuals who wish to enhance and improve the opportunities our children have. Having extra volunteers means we can do extra activities, go on extra trips and spend more quality time with our children. All our volunteers are DBS checked have valid and useful skills and experience to bring to our Pre-School and have had training.
We also have a student from Derby College who will be a younger volunteer generally aged 16-19yrs that will be completing a level 2 or 3 in childcare. We have had some fabulous students the last few years from Derby College and the children love interacting with the younger students who are always lots of fun!
