As you may be aware we were recently inspected by Prospects who are employed by Ofsted, who inspect and regulate services and care for children and young people. The Inspector had a lovely day in our setting, enjoyed spending time with our children and saw how hard our staff work to make sure that the children at St Paul’s enjoy their time here and make very good progress with their development and learning. We were really pleased to be judged as providing ‘GOOD’ teaching and learning opportunities for our children resulting in ‘GOOD” outcomes for them. Overall Leadership and management were GOOD. As well as behaviour in the setting being GOOD; which was seen as much improved since our last inspection. The Inspector recognised how well we care for, know and provide a welcoming, nurturing environment for our children and their families.
However the Inspector has identified an administration error, whereby a small number of members of our committee, the body that advises and helps us to run our playgroup effectively, have not completed the correct forms for Ofsted. Whilst committee members are DBS checked, have references and are professional, respected members of the local community, Ofsted deemed this omission to be a breach of safeguarding requirements and have unfortunately marked us as ‘inadequate’. This oversight is easily corrected and we will be re-inspected within the next 6 months. We hope that the Inspector will again recognise the hard work that we do in playgroup and give us the ‘Good’ overall that we deserve.
May we take this opportunity to thank you so much for your understanding in this matter and continued support. We would like to assure you that your children are safe and secure at all times whilst in our care and we continue to strive to provide the best individual care and education for all our children at St Paul’s Pre-School.
